Karen Fuqua
is founder of Fuqua Consulting Group, a firm specializing in helping mental health consumers attain more enriching careers
through leveraging their talents, while maintaining a healthy balance to ensure continued wellness. Additionally,
she works with mental health clinicians and educators to help them gain a better understanding of the importance of their
patient’s careers, in addition to current therapeutic paths, to achieve a heightened quality of life.
Karen has a solid background in
human resources, workforce and career development.
Her professional credentials solidify the results she is able to provide both individual
and corporate clients. These include an MBA from William Carey University and professional certifications
as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), a Certified Personnel Consultant (CPC), Certified Staffing Professional
(CSP) and a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP).
Having bipolar herself and losing both her father and sister to suicide, Karen deeply
understands the significant challenges facing mental health consumers and works tirelessly for education, removal of stigma
and advocacy on a state and national level. She serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors for the Depression
and Bipolar Support Alliance – the leading patient-directed national organization focusing on the most prevalent mental
illnesses.
